Choosing Elective Units

Knowing your goals and being able to accurately identify any areas for further development will ensure that you are in the best position to choose your elective units.

We recommend that you select elective units that will:

  • enhance your knowledge base in your current industry or profession;
  • assist in strengthening any weaknesses in your current skill set; and
  • assist you in developing skills that will allow you to move to another industry or profession, if so desired.

We also advise you to consider undertaking course units with your personal interests in mind while in the process of achieving the aforementioned.

Understanding the Way You Learn

Having a clear understanding of how you prefer to learn will improve your learning experience at MGSM. For example, if you have a background in finance, you may find that course units in and related to this area are more easily absorbed.

On the other hand, course units that fall outside your background, such as marketing, may require more time on your part to absorb.
