MGSM Research Programs
MGSM is committed to fostering knowledge that makes a difference. The school has an active program of research across general management and leadership in practice. Research strengths include: Leadership, Strategy, Managing Change, Drama and Performance in Practice, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, Management and Philosophy, Behavioural Finance, Social Networking and Marketing.
Two research degrees in management are offered: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Masters of Philosophy (MPHIL). Both degrees involve the development of substantial original work and can be undertaken on either a full-time or part-time basis. Research needs to make a significant contribution to an area of knowledge in the field of management practice. Entry into these programs is subject to a rigorous assessment process undertaken by the HDR Office of Macquarie University and is subject to the availability of supervisors. In order to secure a potential supervisor, candidates should submit a research proposal, a resume, transcripts of past degrees and details of research experience and/or publications to the MGSM Research Office at research@mgsm.edu.au .
If the candidate lacks experience in research and/or publication, MGSM offers a HDR Qualifying Research Project unit as a pathway. Completion of this unit at a high level of achievement may qualify the applicant to be considered for entry into a research degree program.
All research degrees are administered by the Higher Degree Research Office of Macquarie University. A prospectus and further information on entry criteria, applications and scholarships can be found on the Macquarie University Higher Degree Research website.
Information for International and Cotutelle candidates can be found on the Macquarie International website.
