Foundations of General Management

Overview

For more than a decade the Foundations of General Management program has been one of MGSM's most highly sought after and recommended executive education programs.

Today, issues such as corporate downsizing, restructuring, cost-cutting, mergers, acquisitions and the war for talent, have all led to many changes within organisations. These organisations need managers and executives who are not narrowly focused in a single area of specialisation, rather, they need professionals that also possess a strong generalist skill set. It is common place for executives everywhere to be thrust into new and challenging environments and positions in the work place. Often, many feel unprepared or lack confidence in their ability to take the next step in their career.

How prepared are you?

As you become more senior in business, it is a necessity for managers and executives to work across the entire organisation. Furthermore, having an understanding of the implications of your decisions and how they are likely to affect other areas of the organisation is crucial. Senior professionals today need to be able to understand and speak the language of business, make informed and sound decisions, and possess the ability to think 'strategically'.
