Research statement

Dr. Shi's research contributes to third-party logistics, third-party purchase, operations management and supply chain management.  His work considers third-party purchase as a value-added service offered by third-party logistics providers.  This is a pilot research in the field of third-party logistics services.  In combination of third-party purchase, the logistics service providers are able to offer integrated services, including transportation, warehousing, finance, etc, to existing and prospective customers.

Contribution to management practice

Dr. Shi has spent over 10 years working and studying in China, UK and New Zealand.  Drawing on his experience in working with and studying private and public organizations in these countries, he now focuses on several areas: value-added service, logistics innovation, blockchain, supply chain finance, agribusiness and supply chain, supply chain risk and resilience, supply chain sustainability, and international logistics and supply chain management under free-trade agreements.
