What is Recognition of Prior Learning?

Recognition of Prior Learning can be granted for:

  • a) entry or admission into a MGSM program of study,
  • b) credit towards unit (s) of study within a MGSM program, or
  • c) a unit substitution, in which case the unit for which RPL is granted is replaced with a MGSM elective.

Step 2 of 3 

Gather your documents together

You need to compile relevant documents and information in preparation for your application.
Gather the following documentation:

  • (a): Provide proof of residence (certified copy of visa, passport or birth certificate)
  • (b): Obtain and provide certified copy of academic transcripts
  • (c): Provide up to date Resume/CV
  • (d): Write Statement of Personal Aims and Achievements (more information on the application form)
  • (e): Obtain 2 Referee Reports
  • (f): Complete a Recognition of Prior Learning Form if applicable

Other documents you may need to gather:

If your qualification was gained in countries where English is not the first spoken language

You may be required to demonstrate proficiency in English. Providing:

  • IELTS Academic: Minimum of 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 on each band
  • or TOEFL (internet-based): Minimum of 90 overall with a minimum of 20 in Listening, Reading and Speaking and 22 in Structure/Writing. Note: exam results are valid for 2 years and your results must be valid at the commencement of your program.

If you're interested in scholarships

Submit a Scholarship Application Cover Sheet along with a personal statement (of no more than 1,000 words) addressing the selection criteria and outlining the reasons why you feel you should be awarded the scholarship for which you are applying.

You need to post your application to one of the addresses below.

Note:

  • before lodging, ensure all questions are answered and all documentation is attached as incomplete applications will delay assessment.
  • all documents submitted become the property of MGSM and will not be returned.
