Stakeholder management – aligning managerial approaches, objectives and value creation
My research aims to build on stakeholder theory’s body of knowledge by empirically investigating the alignment of managerial approaches, objectives and value creation. Over the past thirty-years, the academic literature relating to stakeholder theory has provided a framework for understanding and managing the stakeholder environment. The framework provided an approach toward strategic management. In today’s environment, the term “stakeholder management” is more akin to managing communications and relationships. Whilst I am investigating each of these, my focus is on improving the success of operational strategy and performance by strategically positioning the firm within the stakeholder environment.
